Posted by Bilal Hameed

A problem with Messages Beta for Mac is that many users find it a little too beta after using it for few days. In such case, users want to install iChat (Messages Beta replace iChat automatically on installation) again to their iPhones instead of Messages Beta but do not know how to do this. This article will guide you how to uninstall Messages Beta from your device and replace it with iChat.
- Go to Applications > Messages.
- Select “Uninstall Messages Beta” from the Messages menu.

- The pop up will appear on your screen confirming about uninstalling and asking about reinstalling iChat. Tap on “Install” to confirm the process.

- Once done, reboot the Mac to finish the process and to complete restoration of iChat to OS X.
The beta version of Messages for Mac is not getting popular in the users. It is better to wait for the final product instead of losing iChat from your device for Messages Beta. If you want to check the Messages beta, you can install it for a while to play with the app and later uninstall it following the steps described in this article. The best use of Messages is when you have to communicate with another iOS device with iMessages installed otherwise iChat is better option.
