This is just a simple method, the same that we implement on our laptops and PCs from time to time.

You might have to change the DNS route and select the one that can increase the WiFi signal strength on iPhone. Follow these steps:

  • Go to your iPhone and open Settings.
  • Tap on the tab WiFi.
  • A list of all the WiFi networks, that have been previously used, is going to be displayed.
  • Tap on the connection that you are using right now.
  • Scroll down and here you will find the field titled DNS.
  • Change the DNS number.

DNS is the server IP address that routes your requests. That is the very simple definition of it; you don’t need to get into much detail and technicalities.

You can use various DNS addresses usually they are fast enough to increase the WiFi connections on iPhone. It is usually recommended to open the DNS if you want to know how to speed up WiFi connections in iOS devices (like iPhone 2G, 3G, 3Gs, 4, 4S, iPad, iPad 2 and iPod Touch).

There are two drawbacks in using a fixed DNS. Firstly, you will not be able to access free public WiFi for different hotspots since they ask to use their own DNS. Secondly, some people believe that changing the DNS affects the geo-location based services though this is not the same as affecting it as a whole. If you think that a faster connection is the most preferable thing for you, then you must give it a try and change your DNS.
